The best thing about Del Taco's new crispy shrimp taco ($1.79) is not that it complements Del's fabulous fish tacos. It's that with it, the chain has attempted to make mere mortal man happy, not just God.
The warm, soft flour tortilla comes loaded with hot, deep-fried shrimp in a thick, delicious breading, nestled in a nest of cool, shredded cabbage. It's a Pentateuch of different tastes, temperatures and textures crowned with a garnish of freshly-made pico de gallo and a lime wedge. . . You have the best new fast food item to come out since the McRib.
Even if it's a sin, it might be worth it.
